Sandra J. Briggs is currently the Past President of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Inc. She has been active in TESOL for many years. During her career she has been a language instructor, materials developer, and teacher trainer. She is the co-author and author of a number of ESL/ELF texts. She has won many teaching awards, and she has made numerous presentations. She has been a speaker in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, India, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, Spain, the United States, and Uruguay. She lives in San Francisco, California, USA.
 
Mya Poe, Ph.D., is Director of Technical Communication at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Poe is also co-director of the MIT Writing Across the Curriculum program, which works with faculty in every department at the Institute to integrate writing and speaking instruction in their courses. At MIT she teaches undergraduate courses in rhetoric, scientific writing, and technical writing as well as graduate courses in scientific writing in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences Technology (HST) Program.
 
Anne Burns, Ph.D., is a Chair Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics at Macquarie University, Sydney. She has researched and published extensively in the areas of literacy development, spoken discourse and action research. She is currently editing a book on second language teacher development with Jack Richards for CUP.
   
 
Dr. Cheryl Boyd Zimmerman is an associate professor of TESOL in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at California State University, Fullerton. She teaches graduate courses on such topics as second language acquisition, culture and vocabulary. She specializes in second language vocabulary acquisition, especially topics relating to learner-centered instruction and English for Academic Purposes.
   
 
Dr. Shondel Nero is Associate Professor in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University, USA. A language teacher educator since 1990, her scholarship focuses on educating ESL and second dialect speakers, especially Caribbean Creole English speakers. She has been an active member of TESOL since 1989.
   
 
David Hall was the elected Head of the Department of Linguistics at Macquarie University from 2000 to 2005 and is currently Director of International Relations for the Division of Linguistics and Psychology. He teaches curriculum innovation, management, and language for specific purposes at masters level, and units on curriculum and leadership at doctoral level. David has lived and worked in a number of countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, Iran, Rwanda, France and England.
   
 
Rajul Bhargava, Ph.D., is presently Head of the Department of English, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India. For the past over three decades she has been involved with teaching ESL and the related issues of syllabus reform, course designing and material production especially for the socio-culturally disadvantaged. She has evolved many innovative strategies that are currently being applied in language classrooms with major success. She has contributed significantly to translation theory and practice. Published widely, nationally and internationally and contributed actively to ELT conferences & seminars worldwide.
